AboutChris

I’m Chris Mirabelli — a former Rutgers University All-American javelin thrower, 3x Big Ten champion, 2x Olympic Trials Qualifier, and Team USA gold medalist with international competition experience.

As an athlete, I competed at the highest levels of collegiate and international track & field. I know firsthand what it takes to develop elite-level technique, train with purpose, stay healthy, and perform under pressure. That experience now shapes everything I do as a coach.

Since transitioning into coaching, I’ve worked with throwers of all levels and helped develop:

  • Multiple state champions

  • NCAA qualifiers

  • High school athletes earning PRs and college recruitment opportunities

  • Collegiate and post-collegiate throwers refining advanced technique

My coaching philosophy is simple:

  • Teach repeatable, efficient mechanics

  • Protect the athlete’s body through smart progression

  • Build confidence through measurable improvement

  • Adapt coaching to the athlete — not the other way around

I don’t believe in cookie-cutter programs or chasing volume for the sake of it. Every athlete I work with receives individualized technical coaching based on their event, experience level, and competitive goals.

Whether you’re a young athlete learning proper fundamentals, a high school thrower chasing championships and college opportunities, or an experienced competitor looking to refine your technique, my goal is the same — help you throw farther, stay healthy, and compete with confidence.

“Working with Chris completely changed my approach to javelin. He simplified my technique, helped me understand why things worked, and made every session intentional. I saw immediate distance gains and went on to win a state championship. Beyond the results, I feel more confident and healthy every time I throw.”

“Chris has an elite understanding of throwing mechanics that you don’t get from most coaches. He breaks things down in a way that actually makes sense and translates directly into better throws. His coaching helped me qualify for the NCAA level and take a big step forward as an athlete.”

— Nikki Woods- NCAA Qualifier

“As a parent, what stood out most was how much Chris cares about both performance and safety. He built my son’s confidence, improved his technique, and helped him stay healthy throughout the season. The progress was clear, and the results followed.”
